By submitting this application and signing below, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms as a volunteer of the Columbus Fashion Council (“CFC”), including but not limited to Fashion Week Columbus and all affiliated programs, rehearsals, fittings, productions, meetings, and related activities.
1. Certification of Information. I certify that the information provided in my application is true, complete, and accurate to the best of my knowledge. Any false statements, omissions, or misrepresentations may result in denial of my application or immediate dismissal from volunteer service.
2. Volunteer Status & No Compensation. My participation is strictly voluntary. I will not receive wages, salary, stipends, commissions, employment benefits, or any other monetary compensation unless expressly agreed to in writing by an authorized representative of CFC. My volunteer service does not create an employment relationship; I am not eligible for workers’ compensation, unemployment benefits, health insurance, or other employment-related benefits, and I will not pursue monetary compensation for services rendered as a volunteer.
3. Reimbursement Policy. I am responsible for my own personal expenses incurred in connection with volunteer participation, including transportation, meals, wardrobe, parking, lodging, or supplies. No reimbursements will be provided unless the expense is pre-approved in writing by an authorized CFC representative and proper documentation and receipts are submitted in accordance with CFC policies. Unauthorized expenses will not be reimbursed.
4. Code of Conduct. I agree to conduct myself professionally, respectfully, and responsibly at all times: following all directions from CFC leadership and designated supervisors; treating designers, models, guests, sponsors, partners, fellow volunteers, and venue staff with professionalism and respect; refraining from harassment, discrimination, disruptive behavior, or inappropriate conduct; not consuming alcohol or controlled substances while performing volunteer duties unless expressly authorized; maintaining confidentiality regarding backstage operations, participant information, and proprietary materials; and representing CFC in a manner consistent with its mission and values. CFC reserves the right to immediately dismiss any volunteer for conduct deemed inappropriate, unsafe, unprofessional, or contrary to the organization’s standards.
5. Assumption of Risk. Participation in events and production activities may involve physical activity, equipment, staging elements, crowds, travel, and other inherent risks. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation.
6. Release and Waiver of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, and discharge Columbus Fashion Council, its directors, officers, board members, contractors, agents, sponsors, partners, affiliates, and volunteers from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, damages, costs, or causes of action arising out of or related to injury, illness, or property damage; loss or theft of personal belongings; participation in any CFC-related activity; or acts of negligence by CFC or its representatives. This release includes any claim for financial compensation related to injury, loss, or participation.
7. Indemnification. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Columbus Fashion Council, its directors, officers, board members, contractors, sponsors, partners, affiliates, and representatives from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from my actions or omissions; my violation of this Agreement; my negligent, reckless, or intentional misconduct; or any damage I cause to persons, property, or venue spaces.
8. Waiver of Legal Claims. By signing below, I acknowledge that I am voluntarily waiving certain legal rights, including the right to bring a lawsuit for claims covered under this Agreement.
9. Acknowledgment. I have carefully read this Agreement in full. I understand its terms and agree to be legally bound by them as a condition of my volunteer participation with Columbus Fashion Council.
